Greetings All,
I thought it was time to post again. So, this time I'll tell you about one of my geocaching.com's Travel Bugs. This one is TB4JC5X Z-MIA-Z Sargeant. It's nothing to big. Just a plastic green army man. You can get them by the bag full at any dollar store. That doesn't make it any less of a travel bug than any other one.
So, I released it into the wild and gave it a goal/mission. I did a search for the right cache to put it in to get it started on its journey. I found the cache and set out with my two sons. To first find the cache and then put the TB into it. We did that. Now the TB was ready to start its journey. It took a while for someone to pick up this one. That's because the cache is in somewhat of an out of the way place. And that's was one of the reasons I chose it. Well, a cacher did pick it up and helped it on its way to another cache. It went to a couple of caches. Putting a few miles on it. Then a cacher picked up the TB and said that they would move it along soon. That was back in October 2012.
So, I did some research on this cacher that has my TB. Come to find out they haven't logged onto the site since then. Which leads me to believe that they were new to geocaching and lost interest. After finding this out I decided to send an email to them asking that the move the TB along. But the email has gone unanswered. This has me asking a few things.
And here they are. Why would you take someone geocaching with you and not tell them the rules of the game? Why if you are new to the game you would not look up the rules? And if you found something in a cache with a tag tell you that this is not a trade item. You would not find out what to do with it.
Just a little rant on the way people play the game or better how they don't play the game. I think that I'll leave you with this. Maybe someday this MIA TB will find its way back into a cache? I'll just keep watching it for sings of life.
Til the next post.
Happy Caching,

So, I have reread this post and still I would like to know if this travel bug will ever get back into a cache.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really expecting too much of this. As we all know TBs go missing all the time, but for some they come back to life as it were.
I would be curious to know if this one will get moving again? Not like I can't get another TB, but it would be good to see this one traveling again. Oh well!
Till next time.
Happy Caching,
