On Saturday, 24 August 2013 I found my 100th geocache. It took me awhile to get to this milestone, but I got it.
A couple of days before that I had found my 99th geocache. So, when Saturday came around and I went to some geocaching. I made sure that the next cache find would be something special to mark this milestone. I had one in mind and was going to do it for sometime now. Just never go around to it. So, when I began my search for the cache that would be the one. The choice was one of the oldest caches in the area. It was placed back in 2001, and it was an ammo can in the woods. I thought how appropriate that one was. Seeing as most of my finds lately had been micros.
It was good to go into the woods and make about a mile hike to get this cache. A change of pace from the urban finds of late. The cache was in great shape for being in place all that time. Nice and dry inside the cache container and yes a dry logbook to sign. An real logbook. Not just some rolled up log sheet. Not that I have anything against micros and log sheets. Just it was good to find that cache and it was my 100th find to boot.
Finds like this just make you appreciate the diversity that is geocaching. There is something for everyone and if you like things to be different every now and then. Geocaching has it. This is why I like geocaching. Now to go out and find more.
