Lets Play the Game by the Rules

Here is a log posting I found while checking out some geocaches. It from GC4G0K6.

The log:
FTF!
Find it during my second time visit today. The cash is impossible to sigh during day time. There are TOO many muggle .:-(
By the way, TFTC

Now my question is this how can you claim a find let alone a FTF if you didn't sign the log in the cache. Which according to the guide lines on geocaching.com your suppose to do in order to claim a find. It's not a virtual and if you have time to find the cache then you definitely have time to sign the log. It's just how the game is played. Don't cheat. Besides the second cacher to find the cache was able to sign the log. So why not this one? I guess that is a question that'll never be answered but, it does make you wonder. Also gives you something to talk about.

I've seen this happen time and time again cachers will post a found it log on the cache page but, for whatever reason they don't sign the log. This one just happened to be the first FTF log I've came across. Just thought I'd share.
Have fun and happy caching,

Am I missing something here?

Went on an awesome geocaching trip towards Norway yesterday. Got a total of 28 founds, no DNFs (although some where actually gone, but still), 2 geocoins and some other finds. Broke my record from last summer when I found 15 in one day (I think), and also got to log my first Mysteries and Multis, and found new favourite places to return to :D All in all, a very nice day. (Now my legs and feet want to kill me XD).
I wanted to direct your attention to the highlighted part of this post, because they say that they had no DNFs.  Yet some of them were actually gone.  OK,  I would just like to know how you one find something that's not there, two and how you log it as a find?  Maybe I'm missing something, but if you don't find it or it's not there then that would be a DNF.  Not like logging a DNF is anything bad, but cachers are like afraid of them or something.  Not like DNFs  subtract from you total finds.  Just thought I'd share this with you.

Missing Travel Bug

Greetings All,

I thought it was time to post again.  So, this time I'll tell you about one of my geocaching.com's Travel Bugs.  This one is TB4JC5X Z-MIA-Z Sargeant.  It's nothing to big.  Just a plastic green army man.  You can get them by the bag full at any dollar store.  That doesn't make it any less of a travel bug than any other one.

So, I released it into the wild and gave it a goal/mission.  I did a search for the right cache to put it in to get it started on its journey.  I found the cache and set out with my two sons.  To first find the cache and then put the TB into it.  We did that.  Now the TB was ready to start its journey.  It took a while for someone to pick up this one.  That's because the cache is in somewhat of an out of the way place.  And that's was one of the reasons I chose it.  Well, a cacher did pick it up and helped it on its way to another cache.  It went to a couple of caches.  Putting a few miles on it.  Then a cacher picked up the TB and said that they would move it along soon.  That was back in October 2012.

So, I did some research on this cacher that has my TB.  Come to find out they haven't logged onto the site since then.  Which leads me to believe that they were new to geocaching and lost interest.  After finding this out I decided to send an email to them asking that the move the TB along.   But the email has gone unanswered.  This has me asking a few things.

And here they are.  Why would you take someone geocaching with you and not tell them the rules of the game?  Why if you are new to the game you would not look up the rules?  And if you found something in a cache with a tag tell you that this is not a trade item.  You would not find out what to do with it.

Just a little rant on the way people play the game or better how they don't play the game.  I think that I'll leave you with this.  Maybe someday this MIA TB will find its way back into a cache?  I'll just keep watching it for sings of life.

Til the next post.

Happy Caching,
