Below is a post that I came across on an OpenCaching.com forum. I thought this was worth sharing with you. It just demo straights the mentality of some in the caching community.
Let me start and give you a little background on this. First opencaching.com is another cache listing service. You could call it an alternative to geocaching.com. Well, this cacher by the geo name of the HAD MATTer went to OX and wanted to list or cross list some of his caches. As you can see by the post he made on the forum. His listings had no description on them. So as a result they were rejected by peer reviewers. I guess he got upset with that and failed to understand that there needed to be a description in the cache listing. He then went onto the forums to post this posting. With the only intention of trying to cause trouble but, when he did so he revealed his true intention. That he was from geocaching.com and was only on OX to under-mind the peer review process and OX. Needless to say he did not get the effect that he wanted so he resubmitted the listings with descriptions and they did get published. And as far as his failed attempt to stir the pot. That went no were as well.
I'll leave you with this though. If you don't like a listing service the simply do not use it. There is no need to come to the site and make a fool of yourself by tying to sabotage it. Just leave and don't come back. If you are satisfied with your current cache listing service then stay there. If not the come and check out the other guys but, don't bring your reject listings and try to make a mockery of OX. It will succeed or fail on it own merits. Just something to think about. Now take a look at the post at the bottom of this and express your opinion in a comment or two.
Happy Trails and Happy Caching,

Stirring the pot
Been a member since 2010. Hid 2 or 3 caches back then that were never found and i had no caches to go find. Decided to take a look at the advancements since then recently.
Peer Review - is it me or is this idea just ridiculous. I want to find caches, not be told what and where it is. let reviewers review. have these reviewers been trained on what is permissible? have they been trained on what areas require special permission? I am guessing not because i just approved 8 caches and guess what, they didnt have descriptions.
Cache Description - just had a cache denied from above peer review process because my cache page did not have a description. So What! where is a description considered a requirement for publishing. Please dont tell me it is common practice to include a description, either. common practice does not require me to include a description.
Reviewer Note - why on earth would i put what, where and how my cache was hidden. what if the reviewer wants to look for the cache?
I would really love to go find caches but since 2010 mine are still the only caches near me. I had high hopes for OC when they first came out. here we are years later and it is worse than when it started.
just my 2 cents.
