I'm still here

Greetings All,

It's been really crazy here lately (like since September 2013).  I was unemployed for about 6 months. And in that time I've been doing Cub Scout things with my boys.  Also, I became the CubMaster of the pack in March.  That's been keeping busy.  Also, on April 21st I finally found a job.  So, have been busy with work. And then I found a new place to live. And have been real busy with that and the moving of the house. Getting the new house in order. Packing and unpacking. Then putting things in their places.

Fortunately we've had lots of help in the move and getting the new house in order. Thank you to all that have been helping out with that.

And then we've been getting ready for our house warming party. And then things might start to calm down a little bit. We can hope.

Which brings me to geocaching. Well, with all of this I haven't had any time to go geocaching yet this year. But, hopefully after the house warming party I can go geocaching. That would be good because I've been having withdrawals from the game.

So, with all that I hope to be able to update this blog more often than in the past. So stay tuned.

Happy Caching,

Yours in Geocaching,

Travel Bug on Christmas tree

This might sound a bit crazy (if you weren't a geocacher).  I'm thinking of hanging a travel bug on the tree.

Beginner's Guide to Finding a Geocache

I thought this was an interesting video and it rekindles some of the excitement I had as a beginner.  Watch this and I think you'll remember your first cache.

Creative Geocache Containers/Ideas: Water Bottle Folly

Watch this and tell me what you think.  I think this has got to be one of the worst ideas for a cache that I've ever seen.  Can you say geo-trash.  Not too mention absolutely no thought in it at all.

I've seen this video before and every-time that I view it I say to myself wtf.  I do hope that people are not putting out caches like this one for real.  Talk about giving the game a bad name.  The funniest part of this video is that it says creative geocache containers/ideas.

I've told you some of my thought on this.  Now it's time for your thoughts on this one.

Happy Caching.  Now go out and find some caches;

Geocachers Creed

Greetings All,

This is something that I think all Geocachers should try and follow.  It could make the game more enjoyable for all.  Now go out and geocache.
This is the Geocachers Creed.  Please follow the:

Here's Ninja One of My Travel Bugs

This Travel Bug (TB for short) is part of a Moving Geocache.  It's one of the many cache types on Opencaching North America. OCNA is one of a number of alternative geocache listing sites.  This TB also has a BIT-Cache and a GeoKrety with it.  These are some different ways to play the game of geocaching.  There's more that just one site to go to for your cache searches but, geocaching.com is the biggest and the oldest one.  So, this is the one that most have heard of as well as use.

About this travel bug.  It has yet to be released into the wild and go one it's journey.  For the time being it travels with me and visits caches as I go geocaching.  It has been dipped into many caches and was with me when I made my 100th find.  I'll release it soon by the end of the month.  You'll be able to find it when you find the cache that it's in.  Yes, the cache is listed on a different site than geocaching.com.  That's ok it's good to break from the pack every now and then.  Keeps the adventure of geocaching fresh.  Check the comments below this post for the links to the cache and TB.
